My personal summer solstice celebration was beautifully punctuated by the ethereal and somewhat whimsical qualities within this bottle — aromatics of lemon balm, queen anne’s lace, and muted straw instantly lure you into the glass. Begging for you to give this a big mouth-swish you will find deep notes of plush honeydew (think close to the rind), white peach, and orange azalea flowers. You’ll find yourself immediately smiling due to the little zap of pucker that hits the corners of your jaw, reminiscent of a fresh mango lassi. My mini picnic plate featured a lovely little slab of Vermont Creamery’s Bonne Bouche, honey, and marcona almonds, all of which evoked the fullness of this Vermentino. Also — and this is not required but is highly recommended — this wine pairs wonderfully with bare feet in the grass. $17.99/bottle
